“I have trouble with my family accepting my relationship orientation.
Most don't take it seriously. At least one thinks it's a trauma response to our childhood, and none really consider my partners as serious relationships. It kind of stings to hear the occasional, when you find someone you'll want to settle down with.
It feels easier just to lie through a mission, but then I miss out on sharing parts of me with loved ones, regardless of how problematic they are. What advice do you have for navigating these emotions and dynamics?”
